Feel Stressed? Eliminate Your Credit Card Debt!

The current economic situation and rising costs of living are leading to the increase of consumers' credit card debt. A large balance can cause more than just a blemish on your credit report. A chronic debt stress can worse your health problems. That opinion is supported by medical researches that have linked stress to a wide range of ailments. However, don't panic: a well-considered financial behavior will help you get back on your feet and ensure your healthy and financially fit life.

The global credit crunch hasn't finished the American love affair with credit cards. Many people use their plastics as a preferable mode of payment, taking advantage of opportunity to make purchases now and pay for them later. Although most Americans appear to manage their credit cards wisely, some people lack necessary financial skills. As a result, they accumulate large debts that they can't afford.

The mountains of credit card bills piling up on you can really make your life very miserable. No wonder that people with large debts feel stressed and depressed. They don't have enough funds to fulfill their financial obligations. As a result, they accumulate high credit card interest and late payment fees. The stress from deepening debt can become a pain in the neck - and the head and the back and the other parts of your body.

According to the latest surveys, people who are dealing with large credit card balance are much more likely to report health problems than people with no debts at all. If we count all people in U.S. who have large debts, we can conclude that there about 10 million people who are suffering from debt stress-related illnesses.

The surveys show that people with large debts had ulcers or digestive tract problems, migraines or other headaches. They feel anxiety, depression and tension in muscle and in the lower back. People who report high debt stress also tend to have problems with concentrating and sleeping. They are more likely to get upset for no good reason.

Of course, all the above ailments are not a result of accumulating debt. Medical research suggests that most of them are typical symptoms of chronic stress. It can be caused by family problems, a difficult class at school, a schedule that is too busy, a long illness or financial difficulties. When you get in an emergency situation, your body releases adrenaline and the stress hormone cortisol. However, if the body stays in this high gear for a long period of time, those chemicals can significantly affect numerous systems - everything from a rise in blood pressure and heart rate to problems with memory, mood, or the immune system. And no, stress is not the reason of stomach ulcers. They are caused by bacteria - but stress can make your disease worse.

If you want to avoid having problems with your health as a result of debt stress, the main guideline is simple: eliminate your credit card debt. It is an important part of maintaining a happy, healthy, and financially fit life. You can ask for a help of credit counseling services, or use a balance transfer credit cards with low or 0% interest rates. If your credit is less than average, consider applying for a secured credit card -you won't be able to spend more money than you have deposited on a savings account.
